NUR: how to plan a bathroom with Alice Ceramica's sloping-rim collection

NUR is one of Alice Ceramica's most recognisable collections. Designed with Massimiliano Braconi, its rim slopes inwards (a "negative" edge) thanks to a patented forming technique, so every basin, WC and bidet looks lighter than it is. The range covers countertop basins, basins that can be wall-hung or set on a top, three freestanding basins, rimless WCs and matching bidets. This guide shows how the pieces fit together, with the measurements from Alice Ceramica's technical sheets.

The short answer

• For a vanity top: a countertop basin, from the slim 60 × 35 up to the 80 × 35.
• For a basin without a cabinet: the 55, 75 or 90 × 45 basins, which can be wall-hung or placed on a top.
• For a statement piece: a freestanding NUR basin, a single ceramic column 91 cm high.
• For the WC and bidet: wall-hung for easy floor cleaning, or back-to-wall if you cannot open the wall for a frame. Both WCs are rimless.

Countertop basins

These sit on a vanity top or a shelf. Sizes are from the Alice Ceramica technical sheets (width × depth × height).

• NUR 60 × 35: 60 × 35 × 14 cm
• NUR 80 × 35: 80 × 35 × 14 cm
• NUR 60 × 40: 60 × 40 × 14 cm, with or without tap hole
• NUR 60 × 45: 60 × 45 × 14 cm, with or without tap hole

The 35 cm-deep models suit narrow tops and small bathrooms. Without a tap hole, plan a wall-mounted or deck-mounted tap. More in our countertop basin guide.

Wall-hung or countertop: 55, 75 and 90 × 45

These three basins can be fixed to the wall or placed on a top; their back is left unfinished, so they are meant to sit against a wall. Each comes with one tap hole or without.

• NUR 55 × 45: 55 × 45 × 14 cm
• NUR 75 × 45: 75 × 45 × 14 cm
• NUR 90 × 45: 90 × 45 × 14 cm

Freestanding basins

All three are 47.5 × 47.5 cm in plan and 91 cm high according to the technical sheets, so they need no cabinet.

• NUR freestanding: the classic closed column.
• NUR freestanding OPEN: the open version of the column.
• NUR freestanding with tap deck: with a ledge for a deck-mounted tap.

Use the dedicated NUR freestanding siphon (SIF07), which hides inside the column. Waste and supply must come up from the floor or out of the wall exactly where the basin stands: read our freestanding washbasin guide before tiling.

WC and bidet

Both NUR WCs are rimless (senza brida), which makes them quicker to clean. See rimless toilets explained.

• Wall-hung WC (33120101): 57 × 38 cm. Needs an in-wall frame with a concealed cistern and the FIX10 fixing kit. Matching wall-hung bidet (33130101, single tap hole).
• Back-to-wall WC (33100101): 57.5 × 36 × 45 cm, with an offset floor outlet. Fix it with the FIX05F floor kit. Matching back-to-wall bidet (33110101): 57 × 37 cm, single tap hole.

Finishes

• Bianco: classic glossy white, in stock and ready to ship.
• Colore: matt colours, including NUR Green Matt.
• I Lucidi: glossy colours (Pino, Miele, Tabasco, Mirto), new for 2026.
• Materia: Carrara and Marquinia marble-effect ceramic, on the wall and countertop basins.

Colours and other finishes are made to order and dispatched 2–3 weeks after your order is confirmed. The seat comes in the same colours, so WC and seat match.
